Every six months Whitstable councillors publish a report of their work. Whitstable News is normally printed and distributed to over 7,500 houses in the town. However the up-coming local elections restrict the amount of money local political parties can spend during the final weeks of our term as councillors and as such it is has been published online this time.
This months Whitstable news covers our work tackling the cost of living this winter with stories highlighting our work organising community toy drives, supporting local food banks and establishing a network of Warm Hubs across the town. It shows how our practical politics have supported local independent businesses and helped residents have a voice in the face of a rise in anti social behaviour.
There are updates on our support for a new play park at Cornwallis Circle and practical examples of how our policy work on environmental issues has seen both the council refocus its spending this year on ideas we brought forward. We hope you enjoy reading it.
